RE: Right On Target [Open]
Several individuals with nondescript appearances had already moved in closer around entourage. A Goibniu woman gave Cathasach a disapproving glance, and shook her head in dismay. Her left hand was casually holding a beer tankard, while her right was cautiously on the hilt of her sword.

Things may turned up a little tense. The Fox and Sea Dragan had never had cordial relations since Cathasach became chieftain, solely on the grounds of his mixed-heritage. Manius had nearly poisoned Cathasach during one of their first meetings, and relations seemed to have went downhill from there. Among them was one of Manius' rebellious daughters taking the charming young chieftain, then, as her lover. The woman was now rumoured to be imprisoned in a fortress somewhere, as punishment for her straying away, with of all people, someone her father detests.

He doubted this girl would go down the same route. She regarded him warily, as any wise person should. However, still respectful, without a trace of malice or prejudice. There was a hint of calculation behind those silver eyes. Interesting. So, Manius wasn't stupid enough to raise an empty puppet. In fact, since she was sitting here, in the middle of a crowded place, instead of between comfortable cushions at Manius' estate, stretching the rules imposed on her; does say that there's something more to this girl than meets the eye.

“You had never seen one before?” Cathasach's voice was genuinely incredulous, “Such faires are a commonplace in my lands. How do you lot pass the time?” This time, he gave the guards jestingly quizzical look, who already set their eyes like blades on him.

Suddenly, a bump on his side made him turn. Cathasach's breath was slightly caught off-guard when his eyes fell on a familiar golden figure on his side.

“I just trying to make her more comfortable. After all, she doesn't-” Before he could finish, he was dragged away from the Sea Dragan by the arm.

They reached a shadowy patch of a tree. By then, the Lady of the Silver-Arm became a distant figure in Cathasach's thoughts. "Really, I wasn't going to do anything more than that," he said after his childhood friend, who gave him a hard time after she found out the incident between him and the Ua Lir princess before, in an attempt to assure her, but he knew there would be another lecture incoming.

RE: Right On Target [Open]
[Nina Will be in the background until the competitions start.]

If anything, it seemed someone else had decided to pound in as well on foot, and the dozen or so heavily armed and armored men that bore the insignia of the City with crossed swords on a navy blue banner appeared. At their front was the man who usually was known to be almost as bad as Cathasach with some chieftain, but for different reasons in going about it. He was dressed in his regalia, and had more then a bored look to him. His boarding axe on his back looked freshly polished, and the glittering blade on his side the 'gentle' reminder of his prowess with the thing. Upon that edge still bore the marks of that war which gained his merit and infamy, but at the same time allowed now for his own protection unlike it's former master, though his eyes now gazed about curiously to the field.

"Gah, tis' been so man'eh pretty folk almost wondered where all them lads and ladies wit' steel in their backs went." He grunted, lookingn to the other armored entourage. He gave not a smile, but something more akin to a wolf showing off his teeth as he recognized the guards of Manius' color. "So! Best be about yourselves lads, don't want them sea Dragons gettin' all fiesty wit' us on their lands again." They shifted over once, the lot ranging from 6'3-6'9" aside Aleksander, but he boomed a deep laugh and moved to the stalls to prepare for some food.

RE: Right On Target [Open]
Voices raised along the edge of the clearing as more Sidhe joined those flocking to watch or participate in the archery tournament - a pair among the group, an Ua Boann and an Ua Abhean, both with bows in hand, were looking very much as though they were about ready to throw down, old feuds going back to the founders of their very septs heating their blood. ( Though, from the sound of it, there was something a little more personal in the argument, too, past conflicts and grievances being brought up with the competition as fuel to the fire... )

The Abhean, though, faltered as a hand presses to his shoulder in passing, his chieftain stalking by with his wife on his arm, though the man paused to deal him a critical stare. ( For a moment, it could't be certain whether it was Humor Charms or the fact that his Chieftain's judgement was which caused the sudden reconsideration, though the heated look thrown towards the Boann as he shouldered past towards the sign-up line makes it seem like it was quite likely the second. )

Ryol and Eslyd make their way onto the grounds, perhaps a little closer to each other than is strictly appropriate, but with an air of regal restraint about them both, a perfect matched pair of snow-white swans.

Strykárr started to get annoyed at the fact the woman was not looking back at him, amidst the festive surroundings, The Laoch picked up a small rock, and tossed it gently towards the silent Silver Lady's feet, smiling, hopping that will get her attention. He did not notice, some favored High Queen of his, watching him. Little did Strykárr know of the crowed gathering, and so he was not fully aware of the people close to him, as he picked up to throw the second rock in dismay, the Laoch bumped into what would seem to be another arrogant competitor who was heading in the other direction, the astonished Strykárr, who didn't even notice the man, was quick to react.

"Watch where you're going, you langer!" the man, who seemed like a young and ignorant grunt from an Alban or perhaps Eireish origin moved to shove Strykárr, who corrected the man's wrong by shoving him back, "Who ye callin' a langer?" The Laoch bit back, "Amadan." he muttered under his breathe. The stranger seemed to catch the comment which meant 'idiot' in Bearlin slang. The man suddenly started at Strykárr with his right fist raised, obviously meaning to hit back for the crude insult.

Strykárr saw it coming, he moved his head left and out of the way and caught the stranger's arm in motion, he came in with a right-right combination to the man's face and then kneed his ribs, knocking him out of balance, Strykárr, no novice to brawling, side stepped and kicked the shin of that vain bastard and flung him down into the mud.

A crowed has been forming around them, seemingly this looked just like a one on one melee competition did it not? The Laoch chuckled, moved back and started to strip out of his travelling gear, pulling his cloak off, his shield and his axe. He then put one leg before the other and held his fits in an uptight and calm posture in front of his face. "Let's do this" he declared with a smile.

"Oh, I know perfectly well what you were doing, Cathasach," There was an admonishing tone in Aithne's voice as she pulled him away from the trouble he was going to cause and to the shade of a tree from which they had an advantage point and could see much of the area. "When it comes to Manius, you can't help but stir the pot," She held up her hand to silence a possible retort, "Granted, I know he started it with his zealous thoughts on the importance of blood purity and outward dislike of you, but there is no need to drag other people into it. Aisling is a nice girl, albeit caged," The woman sighed, but then her lips quirked into a small mischievous smirk.

"Besides, wouldn't it be more fun watching someone else try to stir that particular pot?" Aithne gave Cath a nudge to turn so that he could see the Nemain man that she pointed toward subtly, "Niall's Laoch. He's been wandering around for the past short while, staring at the girl and seemingly trying to get her to see him." Aithne offered one of her cups to Cath before she pulled the cork from her wine bottle -- a smooth red, and one of the particular vintages she was fond of.

Aithne paused before she poured drinks, laughing suddenly as she caught the actions of the desperate laoch, who had decided to resort to tossing rocks at the feet of the woman, resulting in hitting another person and starting a fight, "See, entertainment already." Her gaze shifted toward a patch of white though and her smirk picked up even more, "And here might be some more." The woman murmured before lifting the bottle in the air, using it to wave to the Swann Chieftain and his wife.

"Ryol! Eslyd! Come join us! I have wine, and we have entertainment to drink it to!" Surely they couldn't turn down such a welcoming request from another Chieftain, whether the other one accompanying with her liked to antagonise Ryol or not. It would just be rude, "Its one of your favourites, Ryol!

RE: Right On Target [Open]
It seemed that at least Aisling wasn't going to be pulled into any dramas, of which she was thankful toward the Sun Child. She wouldn't have known how to handle if her guards had decided that the Fox Chieftain had overstepped his boundaries and started a scene. She'd probably have to go back to Alba, and while she loved her home county she didn't like the feeling of seclusion there. At least here she could walk among other people from other Clanns and very few of them paid her much mind.

The silver woman hadn't noticed the rock that had landed near her, there were people walking around everywhere and dirt and stones being kicked up. Movement on the ground was normal when there were people in such an area. What did catch her notice was when a scuffle seemed to break out and she glanced over, unaware really of what was going on. A crowd had already begun to gather after all. The escorts moved around her to make sure that she was shielded from the commotion and she sighed softly.

Now apt with a large thick piece of rib in a gauntlet with the bone wrapped in cloth, Aleksander mused about the field. "Now now now, what's all this then?" He took a bite of the rich meat before watching the fight commencing. A touch to his elbow and a nudging point showed as he watched the fight wickedly as he considered the pair. "Well now, that be that Strykkar fellow eh? An-what now? Oi, Catha!" He shouted over, his entourage of guards and him moving towards the tree.

RE: Right On Target [Open]
Blair had been getting things together, bringing a few of the potential prizes over - most of the merchants around were acquaintances, not more than one or two of her personal associates, and everything was being kept above-board, to boot. The others had been excited at the prospect - perhaps even to make it an annual series of events, and, indeed, the turnout she could see was promising... Even a few Aesir about - unexpected, but pleasing, especially when she recognized Nina amongst the participants...

The sight of a familiar shock of red hair stilled her progress, and she twisted, stormed over. "Oy! Save it for the tourney, you louts! Break it up!"

The woman may have been small, but her personality and presence certainly made up for it - colourful clothes drawing the eyes, and her mane of hair wild and loose.

The fact that a shadowy wall sprang up between the two combatants to punctuate her statement probably backed her words all the more. "

It probably had a greater effect, too.

She'd decided to sneak her way out of chores that day, surely no one would miss her for a few hours so that she could participate in the archery tournament! There were very few things she loved better then her shortbow and she was a master in it's use. She stood at the edge of the crowd wearing her dark leathers and a dark green cape that was far too large for her, she'd borrowed it from Aedan's closet of course. She hopped from one foot to the next anxiously, hoping that no one would recognize her. Granted, she was likely the only person entering the tourney that was under five feet tall... but surely none of the Smiling Iron in attendance would tell on her... Right?

RE: Right On Target [Open]
Cathasach was slightly indignant when Aithne pointed him out as 'stirring the pot'. “But he -” he began to protest, but was silenced by her hand, He made a childish pout at her. She then mentioned 'someone else' stirring the pot, which made him look the way he had nudged him. He turned and saw Niall's loach, who had been previously in his blind spot, throwing a stone at Aisling's feet, the stone lay there pitifully, unnoticed. A slight dejected 'aw' escaped Cath's lips.

“Looks like he needs a bit of help,” he pointed his finger at the stone. Before it rose an inch from the ground, Aisling had turned in the direction where the man was dragged into a scuffle, before her guards shielded her from viewing it. Cath dropped the stone. “Well, seems like it's turning out entertaining on its own.”

He spotted the two snowy white figures before Aithne called out to them, baiting Ryol with a bottle of wine. He smirked as the pair approached them, “Hello, Ryol, didn't expect to see you here, especially with all the..,” his head gestured at the pair of men scuffling on the soft ground, “...mud.”

A booming voice called out a very peculiar abstract of his name, he didn't need a second to figure out who it was, “Oi, Aleksander!” he waved at the leader of Foreign District, another person he didn't expect to run into, then again, he seemed to be running into people he least expected at this event. He began to wonder if his cousin, and the other merchants, had idea how big this event could become, “out for a good day's beer today?”
