RE: The Art of War [Niall]
While Niall’s terms were reasonable and straightforward, it was not the answer Cathasach had expected. The Raven Chieftain was after all, never a man of simplicity. Cathasach wondered if this offer would lead to something else, a hole in a loop that he might find himself trapped in. Then again, Witchwood was something Cathasach could not afford to turn down. He had his eye on the material ever since it was revealed. Still, he wished it had not presented to him so easily, and make him feel like a mouse looking at a piece of cheese set in a trap.

“That could be arranged,” he replied coolly, “but we could discuss it in more detail later,” It would not be wise to prod Niall's intent at this point. He stared out the window, where droplets of water began pelting heavily against the glass. “My men are in need of their rest from the journey.”

His attention then returned to the Macha woman, becoming more at ease as he did so. “Apologies for my manners, I should introduce myself: I am Cathasach Ó Goibniu-Mór, Chieftain of the Foxes, but you can just call me Cathasach.” He grinned warmly at her, as he offered his hand, “I hope we have done justice to your Clann’s creation in your eyes.”

RE: The Art of War [Niall]
Why did everyone have to second guess him? What was that old saying about do not look a gift horse in the mouth? Ungrateful, he held back his slight annoyance at the hesitation for a bit longer. That lone was more than enough to get the great Raven lord slightly annoyed to say the least. The man did not show it on his face, but there was a sense of distaste as he was reading Cathasach probably more than he should. Niall quietly cooled his bit of disappointment and took it in stride. It was now time to move on and find something else to worry about. That was when his attention quietly switched to observer the Macha representative who had arrived not long after the Fox delegation.

At the onset of Cathasach's request to billet his folk within the confines of Dun Fiach. It was a reasonable thing to ask and at once Niall gave a nod to one of the servants. Soon they were taking the belongings of the warriors and smiths to carefully store them for the evening. Grooms were already on their way to attend the animals and steeds of the Fox delegation and Niall was looking forward to showing the Fox Chieftain the delicacies of the Great Coill. There was a slight air of apprehension though. The interaction between him and the Macha woman was something of worth.

Niall's initial move to back the Macha's plan to create Witchwood had paid off more than well, his investment had been returned sixfold. The monopoly that he held the material alone kept him well off, and allowed his people to hold a superior fighting material much of Cels. The plan he had in mind to work with Clann Fox was to take a step in a new direction to creating something Cels utterly lacked, a professional standing army. A legion of warriors that could fight off the Hussars of the Vila, the warriors of the North, and even take on the legions of Ashur. A imperial army, that dream would have to wait however.

The Macha woman gave the Fox Taoiseach a cool discerning look. Her forest green hair was stark against her light skin. There was something perhaps about how she seemed to judge both men in her way. Aoidhe was her name and she was from one of the great Fine ruling the Macha in the middle of the Coill. For years the House of HighBough had controlled strategic groves of Witchwood. The trees of their select crop were some of the highest quality and grade. However, that had not stopped the rival BlackPine family from trying to take over. Niall had been dealing with the feuding Houses for the past three years, and now it seemed they were at it again.

"Aoidhe Ui Macha-Mor of House HighBough," the woman said to Cathasach. Several more figures appeared in the doorway of the entry hall, some where black haired, others were green. Niall glanced up and noticed a particular blazon that caused him to grit his teeth. There was a ShadeCrow representative outside. Seemed his day was just starting to get interesting.

RE: The Art of War [Niall]
While his men were escorted away, Cathasach remained at the hall, in continuing his meeting with the Raven Chieftain and the Ua Macha woman.

“Aoidhe,” he mouthed her name lightly, “a name that befits your grace and countenance. A pleasure to meet you, Lady Aoidhe of HighBough.” He had heard of the House, given their involvement in Witchwood, but this was the first time he had met a member of the Fine. True to his gentleman reputation, Cathasach planted a light kiss on the back of Aoidhe’s pale hand. His jade eyes met with hers.

The brief, flirty glance was interrupted by new arrivals at the door. Cathasach could only vaguely make out the arms of guards which were represented, with the exception of ShadeCrow, a house that had caused enough noise within the Clann Raven, that even the Fox had paid some attention on them. He raised a single curious eyebrow, and noticed Raven Chieftain’s slightly stiffened at the sight of the new arrivals.

“Perhaps we should continue this conversation for another time?” he asked. No matter of his position, he was still a guest in this land. It was not his business interject himself in the Raven’s internal affairs.

RE: The Art of War [Niall]
The gatering of envoys was like a congress of yapping magpies to Niall. As Cathasach began his little flirting date with Aoidhe Niall himself was trying to figure out what was going to happen next. For now it was time to raise a proper assessment of the moment at hand. Slowly he made his way toward the entrance hall and noticed that there was a BlackPine envoy along with the ShadeCrow. The black triangular emblem of House BlackPine upon the green field was set alongside the ghostly crow perched upon a dead tree. Both were side by side along with both envoys. Great, they were in cahoots with each other. A fine day for the Lord of the Raven.

Aoidhe turned to glance at the little convocation about to start and sighed herself. It seemed whenever they tried to move forward the pettiness of the lesser Houses was always there to push them back. The light kiss from Cathasach was a nice mean to calm her already frayed nerves. The past several days along with Niall had been filled with bickering with the BlackPines. There was also two other Houses moving into to take control of the eastern groves. An area that had been up for debate since the ruling OakHorn house had fallen after the assassination of its leading bantiarna.

At this point it seemed the entirety of the Great Coill was going to go up in smoke and civil war.

"Pardon me for the situation Lord Fox, seems some of my feal have come about to cause trouble. Shall we discuss this fortune at a later date? Perhaps in the Fox Land's so we *he pointed to Aoidhe* might observe your industrial production areas?" the man inquired. This would give the Lord Fox time to retire and then think about the offer, adn then NIall time to deal with the upstarts in the entry hall.
